Sgòr Mòr in winter
For my last hill walk of 2020 I decided to take advantage of the good winter conditions and walk up my favourite Corbett in the Cairngorms, Sgòr Mòr. One of the reasons for choosing this hill was that I would be able to quickly summit one of the tops along the wide ridge to take in the sunrise.
Cause and Effects of littering?

A Birthday Thank You!
This week is our birthday at Hillgoers! I’d like to send a huge thank you to everyone for your support so far! I’ve had a fantastic time over the last year, meeting many of you, hopefully inspiring outdoor adventures and building your love for our beautiful land.
Derry Cairngorm, Etchachan, Glen Derry and a Monday bike fall...

Carnferg - a small hill with large views
It was far too bright and fresh today to sit inside typing emails and doing chores so I headed for a hill nearby. Carnferg up the Fungle road from Aboyne is a great wee walk, with the sun beaming through the trees and crunching iced turf below my feet, a pleasant 3 hours it was!
The best loo in Scotland?
A loo with a view! Corrour bothy in the Lairig Ghru, Cairngorms.
Lessons from a TGO Challenge
Last year I completed my first TGO Challenge, the across Scotland backpack hosted by The Great Outdoors magazine.
Morven in the first snow of the season
Yesterday I decided to dig out my winter gear and go on a test run up Morven. I'd been watching the social media frenzy about snow on the hills and I was beginning to feel the need for some of that fresh cold air on my face!
