Balmoral Estate Conservation Day

About this event:

Join us for a volunteering day on the Balmoral Estate. Working alongside the Estate Rangers, we will help them with whatever project assistance they require. On previous visits we have removed non-native spruce, planted trees, removed unwanted cairns, helped to restore bog woodland, and created deadwood by ring-barking trees. The event may involve walking a few km on the day.

There is no charge to take part in this event but please complete a booking so we can keep a track of and limit numbers.

Meet up location:

Meet at the Balmoral public car park, usually for 9:30am, normally done by 4pm. If available, the Hillgoers minibus can provide transport along Deeside.

Equipment:

Like all outdoor days on the hill, you should bring the appropriate outdoor kit and packed lunch, see kit guide here for summer / autumn. We recommend old clothes! Working gloves and safety glasses will be provided if required.

We will be working under the guidance and risk assessment of the Ranger team. However, we and they accept no liability or responsibility if you injure yoursefl during the activity.
