The Fannichs Winter Weekend 4-5th March

Join us for a guided winter hillwalking weekend in the Fannichs this March! Be part of a two day winter journey exploring the hills north of Loch Fannich. Along the way you will be able to refresh your personal movement skills, route planning, avalanche awareness, navigation and more!

This weekend is a great opportunity to explore the sweeping ridges of the remote feeling Fannichs and hopefully reach a few Munro summits whilst brushing up on winter skills that you currently have.

Prerequisites

To be an active summer hillwalker and have some previous winter walking experience using crampons and an ice axe. Although skills will be practiced and refreshed along the way, this is not a trip for people with no winter hill walking experience.

Location

Meet at Braemore Junction at 8.15am. Here you will discuss your plan (weather and underfoot conditions dependent) and then head off to your start point.

Joining Details & Kit

We will provide ice axe, crampons and helmet but you are welcome to bring your own. You will need winter boots capable of taking a crampon.

Joining details, participation forms and kit lists will be sent out before the course.
